For the beginner, we introduce the game in a non-intimidating and fun atmosphere. For the experienced player, our facilities boast state-of-the-art technology and world-class instructors with experience teaching at the highest competitive levels.
For junior golfers, we offer a multitude of programs designed to take them to the next level of competitive play. In addition, Juniors have the opportunity to test their skills on a year-round competitive tour.

The Woodlands Golf Performance Center Earns Coverted Honor: 2011 NGCOA Player Development Program of the Year

When Sequoia Golf purchased The Woodlands Country Clubs and resort courses from The Woodlands Development Company in 2007, one of the first priorities was launching a robust player development program to introduce more players to golf as well as retain those falling into inactive status. Sequoia President and CEO Joe Guerra knew it would take the right leader with vision to help develop the right product and be able to lead a team who could execute programs to achieve results. Kevin Kirk, then teaching at Cypresswood, joined the Sequoia team to launch the Player Development Membership at Sequoia’s Houston area clubs. The core instructional team surrounding Kirk includes two former LPGA Tour Members, three bilingual instructors, one of the nation’s top clubfitters, mental coach and partnerships for orthopedic referrals, nutritional counseling and physical therapy. Together, this team has grown the membership from 52 students (upon introducing the program in January 2008) to the current total of well over 600 Player Development Members in The Woodlands, Texas area. This now represents a monthly dues revenue line of nearly $30,000 or approximately $350,000 annually, with more steady growth projected based on the program’s success and reputation. Program members benefit from the vast experience and targeted expertise of the team of experts, led by multiple time winner of the Harvey Pennick Award for Texas’ top instructor, Kevin Kirk. Despite the accolades and pedigree of this group, they are devoted to a “team teaching” approach, meaning students are steered to specific instructors for different components of their game for maximum results. Together, this group boasts nearly a century of experience in golf instruction.
